Welcome to Miju
We are a photography duo and community rooted in the heart of Prague, bound together by a shared love for the art of seeing. Our name Miju is derived from the Japanese kanji for Water (水) and Tree (樹). To us, this represents the essential balance of nature. The very elements that breathe life into our craft. Since a physical print is born from the union of wood and water, our name serves as a constant reminder of our connection to the natural world.
Art with Intent
At Miju, we find beauty in the contrast. Our work spans the vibrant, fleeting energy of colorful street photography and the timeless, quiet depth of black and white film. Whether we are shooting digital or analogue, we believe in a slow, contemplative approach. In a world of digital noise, we create photography prints for people tired of infinite scrolling. We want to give your eyes a place to rest, that is off the screen and onto a physical piece of art that invites reflection.
Community & Giving Back
We aren't just creators, we are a growing community. Every month,
we organize photowalks across Prague and the Czech Republic,
inviting photographers of all levels to slow down, explore, and
connect.
However, our passion for nature goes beyond aesthetics. To honor the
environment that inspires us, we donate 10% of all sales to NGOs dedicated
to protecting our forests and rivers. When you take home a Miju print,
you aren't just buying art, you're helping us give back to the earth.
Our Mission
To bridge the gap between the fast-paced modern world and the quiet rhythms of nature. Through slow photography and tactile prints, we aim to foster a community that values presence over pixels and preservation over consumption.
Experience
This section is a recognition towards our past teachers, commissioners and exhibition spaces.
